I’m hopeful that our extension will start in July / August. More on that very soon! As a result I am starting to plan the interior for the kids bedrooms and other rooms.
There’s something undeniably uplifting and fun about designing an interior scheme for a child’s bedroom and indulging in all the colour, vibrant fabrics and cute prints that are available. With a just a little imagination, a dull room can be transformed into a wonderland of play and imagination. From the muted and calm tones of a nursery to more adventurous and playful schemes, I really liked some of the ideas put together by Clover & Thorne, an innovative online retailer of curtains, blinds and shutters has all the inspiration you could need.
Colour Pop
Experiment with bold shots of colour to create a stimulating and fun room with unisex appeal. For a stylish look that can be easily updated, keep walls white and flooring neutral, adding pops of colour through bedding, rugs, cushions and window dressings.
Boys will be Boys
Have fun with cute and bright prints that little ones will love to add personality to bedrooms. Keeping things simple elsewhere, for example with just a single colour on the walls, helps to balance the overall effect and gives extra creative licence for the window treatments. Add co-ordinating cushions, rugs and pictures to pick out additional key colours for a scheme which is stylishly charming.
Pretty in Pink
It’s hard to avoid the subtle and pretty shades of pink when designing a girl’s room, but this popular colour doesn’t have to be boring. Contrast deep shades of fuchsia with gentle, powder pink tones and mix in busy floral prints for a look which is feminine and playful.
Add interest and colour using vibrant rugs, pictures and wall decals whilst keeping window treatments simple (a single colour roller blind or elegant shutters work well) for a scheme which is calming and elegant yet sprinkled with imagination.
