TV stars and leading Cheshire businesspeople and community figures (and also my friend Esther and I!) attended the launch of the state-of-the-art new U.P. Cheshire gym.
Former Emmerdale actress Gemma Atkinson was a guest speaker at the event and talked about her 12-week body transformation at U.P. and getting in shape for her appearance on BBC show Strictly Come Dancing. Gemma looked amazing and I definitely came away with body envy and promise to myself that when I can afford to make than level of self investment I will.
Hits Radio presenter Gemma was joined by her partner and Strictly co-star Gorka Marquez, along with Hollyoaks actress and U.P. client Sarah Jayne Dunn, Coronation Street favourites Tina O’Brien, Sair Khan and Tisha Merry, and Heart Radio presenter Lorna Bancroft.
Gemma said: “It has been an amazing turnout. There’s been lots of lovely food and lots of people have come to support the new gym.
“I’ve been training with U.P. for around four years now and I’ve literally found there’s nothing that works better for me and there’s nothing else I enjoy more.”
Gemma, who reached the finals of the BBC’s flagship Strictly show last year, spoke about the benefits of training beyond her impressive 12-week transformation.
“What I’ve enjoyed most is the knowledge I’ve taken from it. It’s the knowledge I’ve got from the guys at U.P. – I know what I’m capable of.
“When I did Strictly, I put about a stone on during the show because I wasn’t training and I just went ‘whatever’ with my diet.
“That would have usually panicked me, but because I know what to do now to get back and feel my best, it took about three weeks for me to get back to what I was. That was just from what I’ve taken away from everyone at U.P. These guys tell you everything you need to know about your body.”
Guests at the VIP event got the chance to hear the story of Gemma’s journey at U.P., as well as tour the new facility, speak to the U.P. Cheshire personal training team and find out how U.P. achieves its world-famous body transformation results.
New local award winning gin brand KURO were also there. We enjoyed a lovely summery G&T with apple and strawberry – recommended! You can follow #KuroCraft to see, share and be inspired to make your own cocktails with KURO.
