The Fizz Festival Cheshire, being held on 17th & 18th November 2018 has a new home this year, The Courthouse in Knutsford.
For the first time in four years, The Fizz Festival Cheshire will move venue to The Courthouse in Knutsford. This is partly due to expansion and practical reasons, but also for the gorgeous backdrop of the newly refurbished landmark and former court building.
“We are so looking forward to the event and our producers and suppliers are equally excited”, states Janet Harrison, organiser of the Festival.
The Fizz Festival has always been about discovering and championing producers of top quality Champagne and sparkling wine from around the world. This producer-led focus sets it apart from the many Prosecco events appearing all over the UK. The organisers hand-pick the suppliers to bring visitors the best possible range of grower-producer Champagne, unusual and hard to find sparkling wines and a fantastic experience. They do also have some amazing Prosecco, never fear, but it is unlikely that it is something you can easily pick up at your local supermarket – that’s the point!
You won’t be asked to buy additional tasting tokens, instead visitors pay a £25 ticket price (discounts for groups of 4) which includes a free tasting of everything at the festival (a lot!) and represents amazing value for money. Visitors also have a great opportunity to talk directly to the producer, discover how the wines are made and buy them by the bottle or the case, at discounted prices.
This year the event will include a new award category (yes, there are awards too) which is named ‘out of the ordinary’ this will cover unique fizz with natural colourings and flavours, fizz friendly liqueurs and spirits too.
Exciting New Producers
The organisers are thrilled to welcome back some amazing suppliers from last year, including the winner of the Best Champagne Award: EspritdeChampagnewith Champagne Jacques ChaputL’Authentic. This was a hands-down winner, so it will be interesting to see how they fare in 2018.
A pioneering young Crémant producer from Alsace will also be making the journey over to Cheshire, Janet met Franck whist on a trip to the region and loved the quality of his amazing sparkling wines (very rare for a producer to focus purely on fizz in the Alsace region). You will have an opportunity to sample the fabulous Crémant from Jean-Claude Buecher et Filsand meet Franck, who is very charming and a keen Manchester United fan!
Finally let’s hear it for home grown fizz – with no less than three English wine producers at the event from Sussex and Devon. English sparkling wine is gaining in popularity and with good reason!
Who’s coming then? Form an orderly queue!
