It’s Easter holidays and I’m doing the working mummy juggle. I’d front loaded my working fortnight to be able to head over to Liverpool in the afternoon to enjoy The Wonderful World of Disney On Ice at the M&S Bank Arena.
There are some younger cousins in our family now so Diva G who’s now 9yo was really excited about sharing their first Disney on Ice experience. That’s the heart-warming joy of Disney on Ice, it really is magical. Little ones dressed as their favourites gather together and complete love and appreciation of one another’s outfits sparking many a conversation between little ones in the foyer!
In our party we had a 4yo Woody fan, 20month Elsa fan,20month Cinderella fan and the 9yo accessorised with a nod to Minnie Mouse.
Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck and Goofy welcomed the audience and opened the show which was followed by The Lion King. A stunning performance with amazing costumes to convey the rush of the stampede as Simba learns to live by the motto of ‘Hakuna Matata’.
The beauty of The Wonderful World of Disney on Ice is there really is something for everyone, there are so many characters from so many films to see that there’s a favourite to please everyone. If your little one hasn’t watched a particular film, it’s not a problem as the show is the next story soon enough.
For the first time ever we were joined by everyone’s favourite forgetful fish, Dory, as she searches the deep blue sea for her parents, with a little help from Marlin and Nemo in Finding Dory.
Also new to the ice were the seven dwarfs, as they whistled off to work to the catchy tune of ‘Heigh Ho’ and Snow White learned to be exercise caution when getting her five a day!
Rapunzel and Flynn Rider were another first to Disney on Ice at Liverpool. The lantern release was part of the segment and was made even more special for the inclusion of a mini Rapunzel from the audience releasing a lantern with Rapunzel and Flynn at the beginning of ‘I See the Light’.
The show closed with the favourite of many as the ice transforms into the wintry world of Frozen during Elsa’s emotionally powerful performance of ‘Let It Go’ which our party all joined in with.
The mesmerised faces and uncontrollable joy from the children of all ages in the audience create lasting memories at The Wonderful World of Disney On Ice.
